Meet Anna, VP of Medical Affairs

Leading the Medical Affairs function, Anna oversees the medical strategy in UNION. Her focus is to lead medical and scientific initiatives, including publication planning, collaboration with experts and ensuring communication alignment between medical and commercial functions.

“Working with medical affairs in a small, entrepreneurial yet very ambitious organization is highly motivating. I really enjoy the daily learnings that come from collaborating with both insightful colleagues and the leading external experts within the field of immunology. The closeness between the organization and the stakeholders outside of UNION enables us to stay relevant, and in the end, generate and publish data that supports the development of new treatment options for the patients we serve.”

Collaborate to win

“At UNION, we have defined ‘The UNION Way’ to include our core purpose and three overarching values; ‘fuel ambition’, ‘drive execution’ and ‘collaborate to win’. Clear and simple, these values guide us in everything we do and define what kind of company we are building. Together, these values guide us to always strive towards personal and team-wide development, while we never lose sight of our core purpose. While I can identify with all of UNION’s values, I would highlight especially ‘collaborate to win’ if I had to pick one. This value is especially relevant for my function, where the sum of the whole is greater than the individual parts. For UNION to remain relevant, we need to clearly understand the needs of patients and the developments within the disease areas, and we can only address these needs by combining the entire wealth of expertise found in UNION.”

What do you think makes working at UNION great?

“What truly makes UNION stand out largely comes down to the ambitious and skilled people working here, making for a unique blend of informality and expertise. The work environment is both friendly and fast-paced, providing a dynamic space where creativity and collaboration thrives. I also appreciate the level of autonomy and responsibility given to each employee, allowing us to influence our own work assignments and contribute to the company’s growth. The genuine support and openness among colleagues create a culture where everyone’s input is valued, making it an inspiring place to work and grow.”
